Install

• Windows sideload folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%/Microsoft/Office/16.0/Wef/
• macOS sideload folders:
  • ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Documents/wef/
  • ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Documents/wef/
  • ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef/

Copy the manifest XML into the sideload folder(s), then restart Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Capability Detection

In the task pane, the add‑in reads Office.context.host, Office.context.platform, Office.context.diagnostics.version, and requirement sets via Office.context.requirements.isSetSupported(...).

Verify

The task pane calls https://127.0.0.1:<port>/status on the local Assistant bridge.
